## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ON TAKE OFF ROLL TO THE SOUTH WITH A CROSS WIND FROM THE SOUTH WEST. THE PILOT REALIZED THAT THE RUNWAY END WAS QUICKLY APPROACHING. HE ATTEMPTED TO LIFT OFF THE RUNWAY TO AVOID GOING OFF THE END WHEN THE AIRCRAFT ROTATED TO ABOUT 10 FEET OFF OF THE RUNWAY AND ABRUPTLY FLIPPED OVER ON ITS BACK TO THE RIGHT AND LANDED UPSIDE DOWN IN THE GRASS TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT AND HAD ONLY MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA237](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA237), Apr 27, 2018: Stinson 108 (N6933M), Eliza Island, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack during takeoff, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
