## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS LANDING ON STATE OF OREGON HWY 205 SOUTH OF FIELDS OREGON TO STOP AND EAT LUNCH AT THE GAS STATION/CAFE. AS DESCRIBED BY THE PILOT, ON LANDING THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED HARDER THAN NORMAL CAUSING A BOUNCE. WHILE ATTEMPTING CORRECTION, HE INDICATED THERE WAS A QUARTERING TAILWIND WHICH PUSHED HIM TO THE LEFT CAUSING THE LEFT WINGTIP TO MAKE CONTACT WITH A ROAD SIGN. THIS CAUSED FURTHER LOSS OF CONTROL DAMAGING THE LEFT GEAR AND PROPELLER. THE PILOT AND SOLE PASSSENGER WERE NOT INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
