## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE FIFTH LANDING THE INSTRUCTOR WAS DEMONSTRATING. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS WHEN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AT THE SAME TIME WITH THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR. THE PLANE VEERED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY CAUSING THE PLANE TO SPIN TO THE RIGHT COMING TO A STOP IN THE GRASS APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET OFF THE RUNWAY AND SHORT OF THE NEXT TAXIWAY J. THE PILOT AND STUDENT STATED THEY HAD THREE GREEN AND VERIFIED GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED THREE TIMES PRIOR TO TOUCHING DOWN. AFTER THE INCIDENT, THE GEAR WAS NOT LOCKED WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS AT LEAST ONE GREEN LIGHT IN THE COCKPIT ON THE GROUND. THIS INDICATED A MECHANICAL PROBLEM OF SOME SORT. AN FAA AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR LATER EXAMINED THE AIRCRAFT. FURTHER INFORMATION SUPPORTS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM. SEE PTRS?S SW17 201805312 & 201805392.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
