## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NON-CERTIFICATED PILOT TOOK OFF AND FLEW AROUND FOR APPROXIMATELY 20-30 MINUTES. BASED ON VIDEO FROM A GOPRO CAMERA MOUNTED ON AIRCRAFT, AIRMAN LOST CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT WHILE MANEUVERING 300 -400 FEET AGL. AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO STALL AND BEGUN A DESCENDING RIGHT TURN. WING CLIPPED A TREE AND CRASHED NOSE FIRST INTO A RESIDENTIAL AREA. PILOT WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR18LA142](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR18LA142), May 11, 2018: Kolb Firestar (N9216E), Atmore, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The noncertificated pilot's failure to maintain airplane control, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's lack of flight experience and qualification.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
