## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATEMENT:

"ON SATURDAY MAY 12, 2018 I DEPARTED KPJC AT ABOUT 9:30 AM FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT. I FLEW TO KBTP AND DID ONE LANDING, THEN FLEW TO KUCP AND DID TWO LANDINGS RETURNING TO KPJC FOR A LANDING ON 35. I LANDED AND THEN THE AIRCRAFT SWERVED OF THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT AND I WAS UNABLE TO KEEP IT FROM DEPARTING THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS BETWEEN THE RUNWAY AND THE TAXIWAY.

AFTER TAXIING OVER TO THE GAS PUMP AREA SO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ COULD SEE THE PLANE, I TAXIED IT BACK TO THE HANGER "[SIC]."

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA278](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA278), May 12, 2018: Cessna 170 (N2485D), Zelienople, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
