## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS CONDUCTING A PLANNED LANDING IN A FIELD ABOUT FIVE MILES NORTH OF PRESCOTT WASHINGTON. DURING TAXI AND REPOSITIONING FOR TAKEOFF, THE PILOT REPORTED HIS WHEEL SANK IN THE DIRT CAUSING PROP AND WINGTIPS TO STRIKE THE GROUND. THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING, AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING. THE PILOT ADMITTED TO GOING TOO FAST FOR THE 180-DEGREE TURN AROUND AND THAT THERE WERE NO MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THE PLANE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA296](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA296), May 17, 2018: Cessna 182 (N182EW), Prescott, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s taxiing too fast on rough terrain, which resulted in a loss of directional control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
