## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON TAKE-OFF ROLL TO THE SOUTH, ACFT BEGAN WANDERING TO THE LEFT. LEFT WING CONTACTED BRUSH/TREES ON EAST SIDE OF THE FIELD. ACFT WAS AIRBORNE FOR A SHORT TIME, BUT LANDED NOSE FIRST INTO THE TALL GRASS AND GROUND LOOPED IN A COUNTER CLOCKWISE DIRECTION. RIGHT WING TIP DUG INTO A MARSHY PART OF THE FIELD. PIC BELIEVES HE WAS PUSHING ON HIS RIGHT RUDDER PEDAL AND THE RIGHT SEATERS LEFT RUDDER PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME, PREVENTING HIM FROM CORRECTING THE ACFT BACK TO CENTERLINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA290](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA290), May 20, 2018: Piper PA 14 (N1423P), Vashon, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the takeoff roll due to his right foot inadvertently applying pressure to both rudder pedals.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
