## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON CLIMBOUT FROM SHD, RUNWAY 23, AT APPROX 4000' THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE LOST POWER. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO REGAIN POWER WITHOUT SUCCESS.

AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE IN A FIELD APPROXIMATELY .5 MILES SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT AND NOSE LANDING GEAR AS WELL AS THE PROP, RIGHT FLAP AND AILERON. A POST ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION FOUND THE THROTTLE CONTROL CABLE ROD END DETACHED FROM THE FUEL CONTROL. THE ROD END WAS RECONNECTED AND THE ENGINE WAS RUN SUCESSFULLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
