N30WG FLIGHT(IFR) FROM KMTH TO KGGE 25/MAY/2018, PART 91 GA

1. AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KMTH IN VMC CONDITIONS AT APPROXIMATELY 1140 HRS (L) ON A NORTHERLY HEADING TO PICK UP IFR CLEARANCE FROM MIAMI CTR. UPON RECEIVING CLEARANCE, CONDUCTED A NORMAL CRUISE CLIMB TO 6000?.

2. WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT, DEVIATING THROUGH WEATHER, LOOKED AT THE LEFT ENGINE COWLING (1215 HRS)AND NOTED THE COWLING WAS SOAKED WITH OIL NEAR THE VICINITY OF THE FIREWALL. NOTED OIL PRESSURE/TEMP WAS GOOD AND PILOT ELECTED TO IMMEDIATELY SECURE THE ENGINE AND REQUESTED ASSISTANCE FROM PALM BEACH TRACON. PILOT ELECTED TO FLY INTO KPHK AS WEATHER MINIMUMS WERE ACCEPTABLE TO CONDUCT AN APPROACH FROM THE SOUTH OF THE FIELD.

3. AT APPROX. 1245 HRS, PILOT ENTERED VMC CONDITIONS AND CANCELLED IFR WITH PALM BEACH, AND CONDUCTED A SINGLE ENGINE LANDING(WITHOUT INCIDENT) AT KPHK AIRPORT. AFTER LANDING, PILOT CALLED PALM BEACH AND NOTIFIED THAT HE HAD SAFELY LANDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
