## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT MADE A TAKE OFF FROM AN OPEN FIELD. HE FLEW ALONG THE COAST OF LAKE TEXOMA. HE MADE A LEFT TURN AND STARTED A CLIMB TO CLEAR TREES THAT WERE AHEAD OF HIM. THE PILOT VEERED TO THE LEFT TO MISS A TREE BUT COULD NOT CLIMB QUICK ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE NEXT TREE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN A TREE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA325](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA325), May 27, 2018: Cosentino Garey A Pegasus (N339PG), Kingston, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain altitude and the powered parachute’s subsequent impact with trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
