## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 27, 2018, AT APPROXIMATELY 1844 PDT, AN AIRPLANE OPERATING OVER THE WOODWARD RESERVOIR, LOCATED NORTH OF OAKDALE, CA, LOST ENGINE POWER AND LANDED IN THE WATER. UPON LANDING, THE AIRPLANE IMMEDIATELY SANK IN A DEPTH OF APPROXIMATELY 14' OF WATER. THE PILOT/^AIRCRAFT OWNER^ AND SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT, WAS NOT INJURED.

UPON RECOVERY OF THE AIRPLANE, IT WAS NOTED THE AIRPLANE APPEARED TO BE A QUICKSILVER AMATEUR-BUILT AIRPLANE THAT HAD NEVER BEEN REGISTERED OR CERTIFICATED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
