## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER A STABILIZED APPROACH AND SUCCESSFUL LANDING AT CORONA AIRPORT (KAJO), IN THE PROCESS OF SLOWING THE AIRCRAFT DOWN AND INCREASING EFFECTIVE BRAKING WHILE ON ROLLOUT, THE PILOT WENT TO RETRACT THE FLAPS AND INADVERTENTLY RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR. THE FLAP AND GEAR SWITCHES, WHILE ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF THE YOKE, USE THE SAME ?SPRING PIN? MECHANISM TO LOCK THEM IN POSITION. WITH THE PILOT?S PRIMARY FOCUS ON LOOKING AHEAD AT THE REMAINING RUNWAY, HE REACHED FOR THE GEAR LEVER, FELT THE PIN MECHANISM AND PROCEEDED TO ACTIVATE THE SWITCH, RESULTING IN A GEAR RETRACTION ON ROLL OUT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA342](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA342), May 28, 2018: Beech D35 (N2167D), Corona, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadvertent landing gear retraction during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
