## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A 180 DEGREE POWER OFF APPROACH, JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN, THE PIC (CFI - PILOT NOT FLYING, IN THE LEFT SEAT) HEARD THE PROP STRIKING THE RUNWAY. HE REALIZED THE LANDING GEAR WAS NOT DOWN, AND COMMANDED THE SIC (PILOT FLYING, A CFI STUDENT) TO GO AROUND. THEY FLEW THE PATTERN WITH NO DIFFICULTIES OR NOTICEABLE ENGINE ROUGHNESS, EXTENDED THE GEAR NORMALLY, AND LANDED. POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED DAMAGE TO THE PROP TIPS, INBOARD LEFT FLAP, AND STEP.

DURING REPAIR, THE GEAR WARNING HORN WAS FOUND TO BE INOPERATIVE, AND EVEN AFTER ADJUSTMENT ATTEMPTS, WAS BARELY AUDIBLE.

DURING THE INCIDENT, THE CREW RECEIVED NO GEAR WARNING FROM THE ATC TOWER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
