## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 4, 2018, N57146 A MOONEY M20K MADE A GEAR UP LANDING AT WATSONVILLE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KWVI). THIS RESULTED IN A PROP STRIKE AND UNDERBELLY FUSELAGE DAMAGE.

ON JUNE 14, 2018 THE AIRMAN STATED THAT HE INTIALLY DID A GO AROUND SINCE HE COULD NOT REDUCE HIS SPEED FOR LANDING AND DID NOT REALIZE THAT THE GEAR WAS STILL RETRACTED. ON HIS SECOND APPROACH HE STILL DID NOT HAVE THE GEAR DOWN AND CONTINUED TO LAND WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED. THE AIRMAN STATED THAT HE SIMPLY FORGOT TO PUT THE GEAR HANDLE DOWN.
