## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 09:15 LOCAL THE AIRMAN ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT AND PREPARED FOR A SCENIC FLIGHT. AT APPROXIMATELY 09:50 LOCAL THE GLIDER WAS LAUNCHED VIA TOW-PLANE. AT APPROXIMATELY 10:35 LOCAL THE GLIDER RELEASED FROM THE TOW-PLANE APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES EAST OF DRIGGS AIRPORT AT AN ALTITUDE OF 13,800 FT. MSL. AT APPROXIMATELY 1400 LOCAL THE WRECKAGE WAS FOUND ABOUT 14 MILES EAST OF DRIGGS AIRPORT AT APPROXIMATELY 11,000 FT. MSL.

IT WAS NOTED THAT THE WIND PATTERN WAS OUT OF THE SOUTH AS OPPOSED TO THE MORE REGULAR WIND PATTERN OUT OF THE WEST SOUTHWEST. THIS WOULD HAVE CREATED DIFFERENT AREAS OF LIFT AND SINK THAN WOULD NORMALLY BE EXPERIENCED IN THAT AREA.
