## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN WAS TAXIING TO HIS HANGER WHEN HE CONTACTED THE HANGER DOORS WITH THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING TIP. AFTER DRAGGING THE LEFT WING TIP ALONG THE HANGER FOR APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET THE PILOT COULD NO LONGER COMPENSATE FOR THE LEFT TURNING TENDENCY WITH RIGHT RUDDER, AND THE AIRCRAFT ABRUPTLY TURNED LEFT INTO THE HANGER. THE PROP STRUCK THE HANGER DOOR AND PULLED THE AIRCRAFT APPROXIMATELY 2 FEET THROUGH THE CLOSED HANGER DOOR. THE AIRMAN WAS NOT INJURED HOWEVER, THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING TIP, PROPELLER, ENGINE COWL, ENGINE MOUNTS, AND NOSE GEAR COMPARTMENT STRUCTURE.
