## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT A AIRSTRIP HE HAS NEVER BEEN INTO BEFORE. THIS STRIP IS LIMITED TO HIGHLY EXPERIENCED MOUNTAIN PILOTS. HIS APPROACH WAS HIGH AND WHEN HE WAS ALMOST TO THE EXTENDED CENTER LINE OF THE RUNWAY, HE ADDED POWER AND THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP STEEPLY. HE CONTINUED UPSTREAM FOR ABOUT 1/2 MILE, NOSE UP AND NOT CLIMBING. THE LEFT WING DIPPED AND THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED A SPIN TO THE LEFT. IT TURNED 1.25 ROTATIONS TO THE LEFT AS IT DESCENDED AND INPACTED THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
