## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT SHUT DOWN THE REAR ENGINE AND FEATHERED THE PROP AS PART OF EXPLORING THE SINGLE ENGINE CHARECTERISTICS OF HIS AIRCRAFT. HE THEN FLEW TURNS AND STRAIGHT-AND-LEVEL NOTEING SINGLE ENGINE CLIMB RATES, ETC. WHEN HE TRIED TO UN-FEATHER THE REAR PROP AND RE-START THE REAR ENGINE HE WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. A SINGLE ENGINE APPROACH AND LANDING WAS THEN NECESSARY. DURING THE LANDING APPROACH HE NOTICED THAT I HAD LOST HIS FULL DOWN FLAP SETTING. AS IT APPEARED HIS APPROACH WAS GOING TO CAUSE HIM TO LAND LONG, HE ELECTED TO ATTEMPT TO CONDUCT A SINGLE-ENGINE GO-AROUND. HE WAS UNABLE TO GAIN OR MAINTAIN ALTITUDE AND AN EMERGENCY LANDING BECAME NECESSARY. HE TURNED TO MISS HOUSING STRUCTURES AND OTHER MAJOR OBSTRUCTIONS. THE AIRCRAFT HIT SMALL TREES AND A BOARD FENCE BEFORE COMING TO REST, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
