## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DESCRIBED AS "SELF-INDUCED POWER LOSS."

PILOT WAS DOING A HIGH SPEED TAXI TO CHECK AIRSPEED INDICATOR WHEN AIRCRAFT STARTED TO PORPOISE AND SHE TOOK IT AIRBORNE.

SHE STATED SHE WAS BEING DISTRACTED BY OTHER RADIO CALLS AND MAY HAVE PULLED THE MIXTURE OR PROP INSTEAD OF THE CARB HEAT. AIRCRAFT WAS SEEN BY WITNESS ON VERY STEEP BUT FLAT APPROACH TO LANDING AND THE PROP "APPEARED TO BE IN SLOW MOTION-SAY 200 RPM VS 1000RPM."

AIRCRAFT HIT VERY FLAT AND CAUSED NOSE GEAR TO SPLAY OUT TO THE FRONT.

PILOT WAS UNHURT. PILOT HAD NOT FLOWN AT ALL IN PAST 90 DAYS, EXCEPT FOR THE LESS THAN 30 MINUTES OF MISHAP FLIGHT. BLOCK 31 WOULD NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS THAN "1" SO "1" WAS SELECTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC18CA052](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC18CA052), Jul 1, 2018: Cessna 182 (N5020D), Chugiak, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's mismanagement of the engine controls due to distraction in the traffic pattern, which resulted in a hard landing short of the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
