## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT CAME IN FOR LANDING AT APPROX 0650AM. STUDENT PILOT WAS BEING OBSERVED BY CFI FROM THE GROUND.

STUDENT PILOT BOUNCED ON LANDING, EXECUTED A GO-AROUND AND THEN DECIDED TO REDUCE POWER AND LAND AGAIN. THIS RESULTED IN THE AIRCARFT LANDING ON THE NOSE WHEEL FIRST AND STRIKING THE PROPELLER FOLLOWED BY THE TAIL. STUDENT PILOT WAS ABLE TO TAXI AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE HANGAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA391](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA391), Jul 2, 2018: Cessna 172 (N6508K), Troy, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain a proper landing flare, which resulted in a hard, porpoised landing during an aborted go-around.

## Other reports on N6508K (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19850725051829A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19850725051829A), Jul 25, 1985: Cessna 172P (N6508K), Detroit, MI, Substantial damage. Bounced on landing and came down on the nose wheel. Damage noted after taxiing to FBO.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
