## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WHILE PERFORMING AN APPROACH TO KMCD AIRPORT EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM (SMOKE/BURNT ODOR IN THE COCKPIT). PILOT ELECTED TO LAND BUT THE APPROACH SPEED WAS TOO HIGH AND PILOT EXECUTED A GO AROUND AND RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR. ON THE SECOND APPROACH AFTER PILOT SELECTED GEAR DOWN, BUT COULD NOT TELL IF THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. MANY INSTRUMENTS INDICATED LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. AIRCRAFT MADE A NORMAL APPROACH AND PILOT DISCOVERED THAT THE GEAR NEVER EXTENDED, AIRCRAFT LANDED ON ITS BELLY, AND ENGINE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP DUE TO PROP STRIKE. PILOT AND PASSENGERS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
