## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC UNDER INSTRUCTION FROM THE CFI UPON APPROACH TO FXE RUNWAY 9, LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED, PIC & CFI FAILED TO NOTICE THE INCREASED SINK RATE CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO TOUCH DOWN APPROXIMATELY 700 FEET SHORT OF THE RUNWAY AND THEN BOUNCED BACK UP INTO THE AIR, COMING IN CONTACT WITH A GROUND LIGHTING SYSTEM. PILOT REQUESTED GO AROUND WAS APPROVED BY THE CONTROLLER. THE AIRCRAFT PERFORMED A GO AROUND AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 9 WITHOUT INCIDENT, THE AIRCRAFT DAMAGE IS SUBSTANTIAL AND IS CONSISTENT WITH IMPACT TO THE GROUND LIGHTING SYSTEM. NO INJURIES, TWO CREWMEMBERS ON BOARD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
