## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS GETTING READY TO SLING LOAD A BOX FULL OF CORE SAMPLES FROM A REMOTE AREA NORTHEAST OF KOBUK ALASKA. AS HE LIFTED OFF AND HOVERED, HE KEPT AN EYE ON THE SLING TO ENSURE IT WAS NOT CAUGHT ON EITHER SKID. HE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12 INCHES OFF THE GROUND AND NOTICED HE WAS MOVING TO THE RIGHT. HE FELT THE RIGHT SKID BUMP THE GROUND. HE APPLIED MORE COLLECTIVE TO GAIN SOME ALTITUDE. AS SOON AS HE APPLIED MORE COLLECTIVE THE HELICOPTER ROLLED TO THE RIGHT CAUSING THE MAIN ROTOR TO IMPACT THE GROUND. THE HELICOPTER HAD FLIPPED COMPLETELY ONTO ITS RIGHT SIDE. THE PILOT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
