As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ENGINE HAD FAILED SEVERAL TIMES IN PAST WEEKS. WHILE ON LOW FINAL APPROACH, THE ENGINE QUIT AGAIN AND AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TREE TOPS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN18LA302](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN18LA302), Jul 30, 2018: Beech A36 (N1856W), Brainerd, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: Total loss of engine power due to a fuel supply interruption from the left tank for reasons that could not be determined, which resulted in the subsequent forced landing into trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
