## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING IN CRUISE BETWEEN THE CITY OF COUNCIL AND NOME ALASKA AT APPROXIMATELY 500-600 FT WITH 1 ADULT AND 2 CHILDREN ONBOARD. APPROXIMATLY 15 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT THE PILOT NOTICED A REDUCTION IN RPM'S FROM THE ENGINE TO 1900 RPM AND NOTICED THE ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH AND UNDER REDUCED POWER. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO TROUBLE SHOOT THE PROBLEM, BUT WAS LOSING ALTITUDE AND NEEDED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT FOUND A CLEAR AREA OF TUNDRA, DROPPED HIS FLAPS AND SLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO ABOUT 45 MPH BEFORE LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 8 FEET AND THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR CAUGHT THE TERRAIN AND BROKE OFF. THE AIRCRAFT THEN FLIPPED OVER ON ITS BACK. THE OCCUPANTS THEN DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT UNINJURED.
