## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, ?I WAS DESCENDING FOR A LANDING WHEN MY PLANE LOST LIFT AND BEGAN TO STALL. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED FULL THROTTLE FOR MAXIMUM POWER, BUT THE PLANE CONTINUED TO FALL. I CONTINUED TO APPLY FULL POWER, BUT THE PLANE DID NOT RECOVER IN TIME BEFORE STRIKING THE GROUND. THERE WAS TALL SAGEBRUSH AS WELL AS A DITCH AT THE POINT OF IMPACT. THIS CAUSED THE NOSE GEAR TO BREAK OFF WHICH IN TURN CAUSED A PROP AND RIGHT WING STRIKE.? IN AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PILOT HE STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET AGL AND 40-45 KNOTS AIRSPEED WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LOST LIFT AND BEGAN TO SINK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR18TA212](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR18TA212), Aug 5, 2018: ICP Savannah (N951RA), Fairfield, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airplane control after encountering a downdraft on approach to the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
