## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2018, THE PILOT RENTED A 1975 CESSNA 172M N9608H FROM A FIXED BASE OPERATOR LOCATED AT CRYSTAL RIVER, FL (KCGC). AT APPROXIMATELY 1030, THE PILOT HAD A HARD LANDING RESULTING IN A PROPELLER STRIKE IN N9608H AT KCGC CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. PILOT STATES THAT THERE WERE NO COCKPIT DISTRACTIONS, THE AIRCRAFT WAS PERFORMING NORMALLY, AND THAT HE WAS FEELING FINE AND RELAXED WITH NO STRESS. THE PILOT FURTHER STATES THAT PERHAPS THIS INCIDENT WAS DUE TO EXCESS SPEED AND FLARING TOO HIGH AND DROPPING IT IN.

THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY SOLE ABOARD AND HAD NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
