## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO ADD POWER TO GO AROUND. HOWEVER, WHEN THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE IT STALLED. WITH THE ADDITION OF FULL POWER AND LOW AIRSPEED THE AIRCRAFT YAWED TO THE LEFT, CORRECTION WITH RIGHT RUDDER WAS INADEQUATE AND THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE AIRCRAFT WENT A SHORT DISTANCE BEFORE FLIPPING OVER AND IT CAME TO REST. DAMAGE INCLUDED THE NOSEWHEEL, PROPELLER, PROPELLER SPINNER AND VERTICAL TAIL. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA470](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA470), Aug 6, 2018: Walter C Smythe Tango XR (N454WS), Mansfield, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack during a go-around, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
