## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT HE PERFORMED A LOW PASS/FLYOVER ON RUNWAY 30 AT SUNRISE SKYPARK (ID40).

WHEN HE APPROACHED THE END OF RUNWAY, HE APPLIED POWER FOR CLIMB OUT AND THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY QUIT.

PILOT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART ENGINE, THEREFORE HE EXECUTED A FORCED LANDING INTO THE SNAKE RIVER APPROXIMATELY 200 YARDS NORTH OF RUNWAY.

AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IN ABOUT 4 FEET OF WATER DEPTH, 50 FEET FROM THE WEST BANK OF THE RIVER, ON A GRAVEL BAR.

PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO SAFELY EVACUATE THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR18LA224](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR18LA224), Aug 14, 2018: Cessna 140 (N89093), Marsing, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power during a low pass as a result of a blockage of the carburetor idle chambers which led to a forced landing in a river.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
