## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED TO START THE ENGINE 6 TIMES, FOLLOWING THE AIRCRAFT CHECK LIST. PILOT REPORTED, AS HE WALKED AWAY FROM THE AIRCRAFT TO THE FBO FOR HELP, HE TURNED BACK TO LOOK AT THE AIRCRAFT TO FIND FLAMES COMING FROM THE ENGINE AIR-INTAKE. PILOT QUICKLY RAN BACK TO AIRCRAFT, TO SHUT OFF THE FUEL SUPPLY AND WITH THE HAND HELD FIRE EXTINGUISHER, LOCATED ON-BOARD THE AIRCRAFT, PUT OUT THE ENGINE INDUCTION FIRE. PTRS # 201804212.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
