IN CRUISE FLIGHT, THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE LOST POWER AND BEGAN TO VIBRATE SEVERELY.  THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING WAS SUCCESSFULLY ACCOMPLISHED ON A CURVING GRAVEL ROAD.  THE PILOTS WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY OR FURTHER DAMAGE.
