## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT MADE A SUCCESSFUL RETURN TO KFXE, UNEVENTFUL, LANDING ON RUNWAY 9 WITH NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS EXAMINED ON 09/11/2018 THE EXTERIOR EXHIBITED NO DAMAGE, THE AILERON SURFACES WERE UP ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND SEEM TO BE STUCK IN THAT POSITION AND NEUTRAL ON THE LEFT SIDE AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE AILERON CONTROL SYSTEM DUE TO THE BROKEN CONTROL LINKAGE. THE INTERIOR OF THE AIRCRAFT EXHIBITED NO DAMAGE. AIRCRAFT AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE AND REGISTRATION WERE PROPERLY DISPLAYED AND VALID. IN THE CENTER RIGHT NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER REAR SEAT, THE OWNER REMOVED THE INSPECTION PANEL EXPOSING THE BROKEN STAINLESS STEEL ROD AND TURNBUCKLE. EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL EXCEPT FOR THE STRESSED CORROSION CRACKING APPEARANCE ON THE STAINLESS STEEL TURNBUCKLE PIECE AND THE OTHER END WAS STILL WRAPPED IN WIRE. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OF ANY EXTERNAL INTERFERENCE WITH THE AILERON CONTROL SYSTEM IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. LAST ANNUAL INSPECTION WAS UP TO DATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
