## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT AROUND 1700 LOCAL TIME, N703TK, FLYING EASTBOUND FROM KIPL TO KSEE AIRCRAFT STARTED DESCEND TROUGH 6000 FT MSL. AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A STEADY SUDDEN FREQUENCY VIBRATION FROM THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE RPM DROPPED FROM 2500 TO 2300. PILOT UNABLE TO CLEAR THE PROBLEM STARTED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES PER FLIGHT MANUAL. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN A LONG GRAVEL ROAD.

A MECHANIC EXAMINED THE ENGINE AND FOUND #3 LOSS COMPRESSION DUE TO EXHAUST VALVE FAILURE. A NEW CYLINDER WAS INSTALLED AND AIRCRAFT SUCCESSFULLY DEPARTED FOR KSEE WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
