## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE MAKING AN APPROACH INTO ALBANY GA. AIRPORT, WHILE ON FINAL, THE PILOT SAW A FLOCK OF BIRDS IN THE AIR. THE PILOT SWERVED TO AVOID ONE GROUP AND GOT BACK ON COURSE WHEN THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A MEDIUM SIZE BIRD THAT PENETRATED THE CANOPY AND ENTERED THE COCKPIT. THE SPARROW AND DEBRIS THEN HIT THE PILOT IN THE FACE AND INJURED THE COPILOTS FACE ALSO. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE TOWER AND DECLARE AN EMERGENCY AND WENT AROUND. THEY LATER LANDED SAFELY AND PARAMEDICS SAW TO THEIR INJURIED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
