## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 01OCT2018 AROUND 1000 LOCAL, A PRIVATE PILOT WAS LANDING AT LAKELAND AIRPORT KLAL. DURING THE LANDING, THE AIRMAN HAD A HARD MAIN GEAR LANDING MAKING THE AIRPLANE TO BOUNCE. THE AIRMAN DID NOT CORRECTED NOR INITIATED A GO AROUND. AS A RESULT OF THE BOUNCE, THE AIRPLANE LANDED NOSE GEAR FIRST, STRIKING THE RUNWAY WITH THE PROPELLER AND SUBSEQUENTLY COLLAPSING THE NOSE GEAR. THE AIRPLANE CAME TO A FULL STOP APPROXIMATELY 200FT AFTER STRIKING THE PROPELLER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA025](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA025), Oct 1, 2018: Cessna 152 (N24752), Lakeland, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare, which resulted in a hard, bounced landing and the nose gear collapsing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
