## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 3, 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 1200 CDT, N1626N A FUNK B85C AIRPLANE, REGISTERED TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND OPERATED BY A PRIVATE PILOT, DEPARTED HOT SPRINGS, AR (HOT) TO THE WEST AND EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AT APPROXIMATELY 2500 FT. ALTITUDE. THE PRIVATE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RETURN TO DEPARTURE AIRPORT BUT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN FLIGHT DUE THE LOSS OF POWER AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN A FIELD APPROXIMATELY FOUR MILES FROM THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR AND LOWER COWLING. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER DID NOT SUSTAIN INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
