## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD DECIDED TO PRACTICE ENGINE OUT PROCEDURES AND HAD PULLED BACK THE POWER TO IDLE FOR THE PROCEDURE. HE STATED HE HAD CONCIOUSLY LEFT THE GEAR IN THE UP POSITION LONGER THAN HE NORMALLY WOULD TO REDUCE DRAG. ABOUT THE SAME TIME HE SAID A PILOT WAS TRANSITIONING OVER THE AIRPORT AND WAS TALKING ON THE RADIO IN A BROKEN ENGLISH ACCENT, EXCESSIVLY. THE PILOT CONTINUED BASE AND FINAL APPROACH, REALIZED HE WAS TOO LOW, ADDED POWER THAT PITCHED THE AIRCRAFT NOSE DOWN AND THE PROPELLER STUCK THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED TO THE ASPHAULT RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA032](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA032), Oct 18, 2018: Piper PA24 (N6263P), Madras, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to extend the landing gear, which resulted in an attempted go-around and subsequent pitchdown and impact with the runway.

## Other reports on N6263P (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19800518052629I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800518052629I), May 18, 1980: Piper PA24250 (N6263P), Orcas, WA, Minor damage. Gear up landing made. Suspect pilot failed to extend.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
