## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN THROUGH POLE SUPPORTED POWER LINES THAT ARE STRUNG PARALLEL TO, AND APPROXIMATELY 25 FT FROM IDAHO STATE HIGHWAY 75. AFTER STRIKING POWER LINES, THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN TO, AND LANDED AT SMILEY CREEK AIRSTRIP (U87).

PIC CLAIMS HE DID NOT NOTIFY FAA OF THE INCIDENT BECAUSE HE DID NOT REALIZE HE HIT THE POWER LINES. FSDO BECAME AWARE OF EVENT AFTER A WITNESS TO THE EVENT MADE A REPORT TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT WHO SUBSEQUENTLY NOTIFIED THE FSDO . PIC AND AIRCRAFT DETERMINED DURING INCIDENT INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
