## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS FLYING AN HOMEBUILT ACROSPORT AIRCRAFT, WHICH IS A BI-WING TAILWHEELED AIRCRAFT. PILOT DEPARTED CULPEPER ON A REFRESHER FLIGHT AS PILOT JUST PURCHASED AIRCRAFT DAYS EARLIER. PILOT PREVOUSLY OWNED THIS AIRCRAFT APPROXIMATELY 10 YEARS EARLIER. UPON LANDING PILOT DID A THREE WHEEL LANDING AND THEN THE AIRCRAFT STARTED SWERVING BACK AND FORTH BEFORE GROUND LOOPING TO THE RIGHT. LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FOLDED UNDER FUSELAGE TOWARDS THE RIGHT SIDE. LEFT WING STRUCK GROUND WHICH CAUSED WING SUPPORTS AND SPARS TO BREAK. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED BY THE PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA047), Nov 4, 2018: Poberezny Acro Sport II (N44JS), Culpeper, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
