## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE FLYING SOUTH THROUGH THE CAJON PASS THE PILOT HIT SEVERE TURBULANCE WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO LOSE POWER. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST THE MIXTURE AND ALSO THE CARB HEAT. THIS WAS NOT WORKING SO THE DECISION WAS MADE TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON THE WEST BOUND 210 FREEWAY. THE PILOT MADE A HARD LANDING WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE MAIN LANDING GEAR, NOSE LANDING GEAR, PROPELLER, ENGINE AND FORWARD FIREWALL AREA. TO BE AMENDED IN THE FUTURE IN NEEDED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR19LA021](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR19LA021), Nov 8, 2018: Cessna 182 (N9914M), Ontario, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power during descent due to an incorrectly installed carburetor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
