## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON NOVEMBER 11, 2018, THE PILOT OF N6240S DEPARTED PORT SAINT JOE AIRPORT (A51) FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT. APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND STOPPED RUNNING. THE PILOT SET THE AIRCRAFT UP FOR A WATER LANDING AND DITCHED THE AIRCRAFT IN THE GULF OF MEXICO APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES FROM THE SHORELINE. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES DUE TO THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
