## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT AND OWNER OF THE AIRCRAFT: ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^25 BERKSHIRE DRIVE, CLIFTON PARK, NY^, WAS THE SOUL OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND WAS ATTEMPTING A GO-AROUND AFTER LANDING ON SNOW COVERED RUNWAY. PILOT CLAIMS THAT LEFT LANDING GEAR STRUCK SNOW BANK DURING THE ATTEMPTED GO-AROUND, CAUSING AIRCRAFT TO VEER TO THE LEFT. HE CONTINUED TO CLIMB BUT WAS UNABLE TO CLEAR THE TREES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA058](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA058), Nov 12, 2018: Cessna 172 (N738VK), Piseco, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of directional control during landing, which resulted in impact with a snow pile and necessitated a go-around, during which the airplane impacted trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
