## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT TOOK OFF BUT REMAINED IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AT SIF. PILOT STATED THAT HE LANDED SIDE-LOADED DUE TO WIND (GEAR WERE NOT STRAIGHT). PILOT STATED THAT WHEN HE TOUCHED DOWN, HE USED THE BRAKE. THIS AIRCRAFT DOES NOT HAVE DIFFERENTIAL BRAKING BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE TOE BRAKES. THE PILOT USED THE PARKING BRAKE AS HIS ONLY METHOD OF BRAKING, WHICH DEPLOYED THE LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKES SIMULTANEOUSLY. HE STATED THAT THE LEFT BRAKE LOCKED UP AND HE VEERED OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT ENDED UP OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY IN A DITCH. THE NOSE GEAR SHEARED OFF BUT THE FIREWALL WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE PILOT SUSTAINED A BLOODY NOSE (MINOR INJURIES). NOBODY ELSE ON BOARD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
