## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE CFI/MEI WAS AT THE CONTROLS OF THE AIRCRAFT RETURNING FROM THE PRACTICE AREA. HE PLANNED ON MAKING THE APPROACH AND LANDING TO GIVE THE MULTI-ENGINE STUDENT A BREAK FROM FLYING. EVIDENCE SHOWS THE AIRCRAFT PROPELLERS TOUCHED THE RUNWAY 24 WITH GOUGING AND THEN A GAP OF OVER 500' FOLLOWED BY MORE GOUGES AND THEN THE FUSELAGE SCRAPING. THE CFI/MEI CLAIMED THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED AND COLLAPSED. PHYSICAL EVIDENCE INDICATES AN INITIAL GEAR UP LANDING WITH THE PILOT TRYING TO LOWER THE GEAR AFTER THE INITIAL PROPELLER STRIKES. MAINTENANCE FOUND NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM OR WARNING HORN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
