## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APPROACH AT RWY 31R JFK INT'L AIRPORT JETBLUE FLIGHT 784 (MCO-JFK) REPORTED BUFFETING AND RUMBLING NOISE UPON FLAP 2 EXTENSION. NOISE CEASED A SHORT TIME LATER. RH OVERWING SLIDE WAS DISCOVERED MISSING AFTER LANDING.

THE SLIDE DOOR WAS REPAINTED DURING MAINTENANCE AND 2 SLIDE BALL LOCKS WERE NOT PROPERLY LATCHED. THE REMAINING LATCHES WERE UNABLE TO HOLD THE AERODYNAMIC LOAD UPON FLAP EXTENSION AND FAILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
