## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, "ON 12/15/2018 AT APPROXIMATELY AT 1155 MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME (MST) A FROELICH ROBERT E. LANCAIR IV WAS RETURNING FROM FLIGHT AND LINED UP ON RUNWAY 35 AT AROUND 80 KIAS. TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL AND SMOOTH, BUT WHEN I LOWERED THE NOSE TO THE RUNWAY I FELT THE NOSE GEAR TOUCH FOLLOWED BY IT CONTINUING TO COLLAPSE WITH PARTS OF THE SHATTERING PROP SCATTERED ABOUT AS WE SLID TO A STOP. TWO PERSONNEL WERE ON BOARD WITH NO INJURIES." NO MECHANICAL FAILURE COULD BE IDENTIFIED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
