## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ON SOLO CROSS COUNTRY, STUDENT NOTICED DIFFICULTY WHILE TAXIING AFTER LANDING AT THE FIRST INTENDED AIRPORT. STUDENT TOOK OFF AND FLEW BACK TO HSV, TELLING HSV APPROACH THAT HE HAD SOME DIFFCULTY TAXIING. HSV ASKED IF HE WISHED TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY- STUDENT DECLINED. UPON LANDING, STUDENT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY ONTO THE GRASS.

THE STUDENT NOW UNDERSTANDS THE IMPORTANCE OF STOPPING TO INVESTIGATE ABNORMALITIES, AND A THOROUGH PREFLIGHT INSPECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
