## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PILOT WAS RETURNING TO CHINO AIRPORT (KCNO) FROM A LOCAL FLIGHT IN HIS BELLANCA 7ECA AIRCRAFT WHEN HE WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 26R. IMMEDIATELY UPON TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRMAN NOTICED A RIGHT QUARTERING TAILWIND WHICH CAUSED THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO SHIFT TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT RESPONDED BY APPLYING LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE WHICH IN TURN CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO SHIFT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED, FOLLOWED BY A PROPELLER STRIKE, WHICH RESULTED IN A GROUND LOOP OF THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR19CA067](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR19CA067), Jan 19, 2019: Champion 7ECA (N11852), Chino, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control while landing, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
