## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT PULLED AIRCRAFT OUT OF HANGER, STARTED ENGINE, HAD SEAT ALL THE WAY BACK, WHILE SITTING GETTING WEATHER, THE ENGINE SURGED AND STARTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE TAXI WAY, BECAUSE SEAT WAS ALL THE WAY BACK, PILOT WAS UNABLE TO APPLY BRAKES, AIRCRAFT RAN INTO AIRCRAFT AND HANGER ACROSS THE TAXI WAY, NO INJURIES, DAMAGE TO BOTH AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA19CA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA19CA136), Feb 10, 2019: Cessna 182 (N9101X), Arlington, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's distraction during the engine warm-up, which resulted in the airplane's collision with a hangar. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's failure to set the brakes.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
