## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN WAS DOING A SOLO TRAINING FLIGHT AT A LAKE NEAR THE AIRPORT (2.5 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT). AT THE END OF HIS FLIGHT HE CALLED THE KLEE TOWER INBOUND. TOWER TOLD HIM TO REPORT 2 MILE RIGHT BASE FOR RUNWAY 31, BUT LATER AMENDED HIS CLEARANCE FOR A STRAIGHT IN RUNWAY 31. AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE AIRMAN FELT A VIBRATION, AND WHEN THE AIRPLANE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP HE REALIZED THAT HE HAD FORGOTTEN TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
